Help Keep Corey In College!!

Every student deserves access to a college education. With increasing costs of college, many students are denied this access simply because they cannot afford it.

Hi I'm Corey and i've been hit with obstacles that many people couldn't even imagine. Growing up in an environment that consisted of gangs, violence, drugs, and poverty, i've pushed past the adversity and applied and was accepted into multiple accredited universities. After working for a few years and establishing a savings account i've still fallen short to stay in college. I am not surrounded by a financially stable family so having the support that some of the other students have hasn't really been in my favor.

I am currently enrolled as a student as James Madison University and I have met plenty of fun, kind, caring and amazing people. I look at James Madison University as a home because of the environment and the wonderful people there. I know a lot of people there who would be heartbroken if I didn't return next semester. 

When I told the dorm about how I was short on money for last semester and was unable to stay enrolled at JMU, they were all heartbroken. Many people from my dorm look up to me as a brother or a best friend. I always try to help out the best way I can even when I am not able too. I love attending James Madison University and as much as I have a family at home in Richmond my family is also at JMU. 

I'm also the first in his family to attend college and has dreams of being able to make it in the world.

Everyone who knows me, is part of the JMU community, or has a heart to help a student have his dreams come true can donate, even just a few dollars, to help me continue his college dreams.
