Hello friends, Many of you know Sean Harris as an amazing vocal talent. We are fortunate to hear him perform at Unity in Chicago. Sean is also blind, though he will tell you - "My spirit is much bigger than being blind. Every day I ask myself - how am I going to grow through this?"
This week, Sean was using his cell phone when someone ran up behind him, yanked it from his hand and ran away, leaving him without his primary means of connecting and booking work. When I heard this, I thought of his resilience and how he had managed to come through an incident when he was injured earlier this year. I thought... now this?!
I also thought of the love and appreciation so many people have for Sean - who he is, the incredible gift he shares with passion and joy, and the inspiration he offers so many. Sean will once again be donating his time for Unity's upcoming Summer Concert (he is pictured here at last year's concert).
This seemed an opportunity to shower him with the love we have for him. I asked him if he would allow us to help him through this. Hearing a relieved yes, I asked him to scope out his dream cell phone and let me know how much it would cost. The cost of the phone, the payment of the balance for his stolen phone and all the new necessary accoutrements is our fundraising goal. Funds received over this amount could even help Sean with his monthly bill.
So friends, I wanted to share this request for support with you. Won't it be great to gift Sean with his dream cell phone? Love prevails!
Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
