Hello, my name is Daisy Lovell (Age 15 but 17 when I take part), and I'm incredibly excited (and a little nervous) to share that I've been given the opportunity to take part in a 4-week expedition to Kenya with Camps International. This isn’t just a trip—it’s a chance for me to step into a completely different environment, challenge myself, and contribute to real, meaningful change. I’ll be living in a rural village called Muhaka, working on a range of community and conservation projects. These include helping to build and improve schools, supporting elderly care and women’s empowerment programmes, and contributing to vital environmental efforts like reforestation and wildlife protection. One of the things that drew me to this expedition is the chance to truly connect with the people and culture in Kenya, to learn from them, and to be part of something bigger than myself. While there’s a short scuba diving course included to gain some lifelong qualifications, what really matters to me is the chance to get my hands dirty and help where it’s needed most. This is about growth, both personal and collective—and I’m committed to making the most of it. To get there, I need to raise £5,190 to help cover the cost of travel, Insurances accommodation, project materials, and other essentials.
