NSLC Conference Trip
Donation protected
I have been offered and accepted into the NSLC. A very rare and important opportunity for me. The National Student Leadership Conference (NSLC), has invited me to be a part of their summer conference on behalf of Lake Stevens WA. This 2019 Summer Conference would include living on the campus of a selection of colleges. I would be able to experience hands on training and see exactly what it would take to pursue my goal for becoming a Computer Hardware Engineer.
These colleges include; American University, Georgia Tech, Northwestern University, Rice University, University of California Berkeley, and Yale University. Each year 12 of these students get awarded a $20,000 Merit-Based Scholarship for NSLC Alumni.
As some of you may know, the last few years have not been the greatest. The rug was ripped out from under me, you could say, but living here in Lake Stevens has allowed me to regain my feet. I have regained my academic standing and continue to pursue my goals. This opportunity would give me an advantage over many of my peers and eventual co-workers. I am determined to work hard and prove to myself that where you come from does not define who you will become.
There's only one slight problem, the Conference at Georgia Tech is gonna cost around $3, 700.That would cover tuition, housing, meals, course materials, academic expenses, and transportation to off campus activities. We also have to provide the transportation to and from the event.
If you know my family, we don’t exactly have that kind of money, but i’m willing to work hard and I have the support of my parents, Josh and Anna Rockness. We will be doing our best to make this happen, we ask that you please consider contributing to my future. I set my goals high, and I intend on achieving them. Thank you for your time, and thank you to all of you helping make this possible.
