Help me take care of Eddie Wohlford

More than 10 years ago I was diagnosed with syringomyelia/Chiari I malformation (it can grow or spread). It is a painful and crippling disease in my spinal cord. It is pain which is progressive over an unknown length of time. The pain radiates from nerves at my neck which has now moved through my scalp, middle back, pectorals, shoulders, and elbows. It is constant and equal on both sides of my body. Syringomyelia can lead to paralysis and death all by itself. The medicines I have been prescribed are the same opiods to which so many young people are addicted. It is given to hospice patients so that their families are not subjected to the suffering of their loved ones while they pass away. It helps a lot but physical addiction and fatique is the cost. I have learned to live with it the best I can.
Then, in March 2013 I was diagnosed with prostate cancer. Because my father died from the same and in my case it is Stage III cancer, I had my prostate removed 2 weeks later. Since then, my regular PSA tests showed that I was cancer free - until about 6 weeks ago. New stage III cancer showed up where the prostate used to be (prostate bed) and Dr. Larson, in Birmingham, explained that on a 1-10 scale for aggressive/dangerous cancer, this is a 9. He is recommending radiation therapy, which will be 5 days a week for 8 ½ weeks, hormone reduction shots, and, if necessary, chemotherapy. The most common side effect is fatigue.
Because of "cancer related fatigue"and overpowering medicine for the nerve pain from my spinal cord I am lying down 12-14 hours a day already. Sometimes I just have to leave an assignment and come home or find a place to lean my head until I can drive. My children and theirs are a joy and they have gotten accustomed to me going to a bedroom to rest for a while when we are together.
With my lack of earnings and the medical procedures ahead I have no way to pay for related copays, medicine, or even a cost of living for me. My daughter suggested that we set up a "GOFUNDME" account to allow those who would like to help have a way to do so. My wife, Anna McArthur, will be receiving whatever funds are given so that she can handle the costs and bills
for me as she has been doing since this cancer has come into our lives.

One more thing; I still feel very good in my heart and soul. Almost everyday there are some hours that I can enjoy everyone around me and have fun. I have an awful lot to be thankful for and I am not forgetting it. There are some great people who love me and let me know it. Thank YOU for caring enough to read this. Whether or not I am able to get some help like this and whether or not YOU can help with a contribution, I thank God for my wife, my family, and my friends.
