Hi, this is my friend Maria. She's in the hospital right now getting blood transfusions. She's got a heart condition that is requiring a ton of medical care and she needs your help.

A little about Maria - She is one tough cookie. She's the primary care-giver to her mom who has dementia and doting aunt to Athena Joy and 6 year old Sammy who live with her. Her family relies on her heavily and the medical bills are severely impacting all of their lives.

Maria may actually be a little mad at me for starting a GoFundMe for her. Like I said, she's tough. We met at work and she rarely misses a day. Even when she's in a bad way, she's the rock I can count on to be there when needed. She's been trying to soldier through this on her own grit but the bills are piling up to the point that she really needs help.

Edit:  After reading the text above, one of our co-workers says, "I think she is also kind, very thoughtful, and it would be a great loss to the world without her.  People like her help to foster better people in the world."
