Before she was born, my sister was a fighter. For many reasons she was destined to succeed. Despite everything that she has gone through, she is invincible. Our small family has endured major emotional tragedies through the years, but Alejandra has managed to stay strong. At first glance my sister seems like a shy, introverted girl who doesn't know what to say. Please believe me when I say that Alejandra is one of the most creative, understanding, accepting, animated, sensitive, caring, funny, and protective people I know. She will take a secret to the grave. Although she is not without  (many) faults, she is the best friend I could ask for. 

The reason I am setting up this account is because my mother can no longer afford Alejandra's school tuition. Our monthly house payment takes over more than half of my mother's paycheck. Add groceries, bills, and tuition and we are left with barely enough to scrap by.  Even though our family does receive financial help, Alejandra's tuition still adds up to more than 8,000 a year. You may be wondering why we are asking for $2,200 more...well that is an excellent question! Alejandra's school offers an intercession week where students can explore life beyond the classroom. My sister has her heart set on New York, somewhere she has never been and may never get to go. To cover the cost of airfare, transportation, and other fees, the school charges about $2,500. My mother and I will try to give the most that we can, but I know that without help, my sister will never be able to see New York. 

We are asking kindly for your help. We believe in Alejandra's education and know that our money is going to her future. If she does not have to worry about Mercy's bill, Alejandra can focus on her studying. Even if you cannot donate, we know that blessings are not only given monetarily.
