Mom's Bills

My mother Marj is a hardworking, sweet, loving individual. Being self-employed, she is dedicated to her business where she heals and rejuvenates people as an esthetician, massage therapist, intuitive & Reiki master. A few months ago, she moved in with a man to whom she was engaged to be married. Over 3.5 months, she underwent double knee replacement surgeries and was unable to do the work that she loves so much to do. One week before the marriage was about to take place, the man she was engaged to suddenly decided to end the relationship and move out. Over the course of just a few days, he disappeared entirely, “ghosting” her, leaving behind a marked refusal to communicate along with a few sundries and a failure to acknowledge the difficulties my mother would be facing in the wake of his retreat. She is now saddled with his half of the rent for the 10 months left on a lease that would be costly for her to break, not to mention that facing another move while healing from two knee replacements presents additional barriers (physical & financial) to simply moving back to a smaller apartment. Currently, she is physically only able to work part time (working 4 to 6 hour days compared to her usual 10 to 14 hour days) offering only esthetic services at her business. She is unable to take out any additional loans since she took out loans to help her cover expenses for the 3.5 months taken off for her surgeries.
