On Dec 10, 2018, I was illegally locked out of my apt by the building super. The lock out was based on fraudulent claims of non-payment. Even after I provided evidence that proved that the lock out was erroneous, the landlord refuses to allow me to return home. He claims that I have to sue him in order to get my apt back. The apt is a subsidized unit in which I pay only 570.00 per month while at market rate it wld exceed 3000.
From that time, I've been going from hotel to hotel since it's one of the few places that offers wheelchair accessible accommodations. I have a disability and use a mobility scooter to get around. That means I need barrier-free shelter at the entrance and the bathrooms, which is extraordinarily difficult to obtain.
I'm about to deplete my savings and require some financial support to keep myself afloat. Most of the money will go towards paying down my debts-- about 25,000-- which is the direct result of the cost-prohibitive requirements in finding ADA compliant housing.
The hotel fees are skyrocketing and I'm running out of options. I need a place to stay and rest.
Anything you can contribute will be appreciated.
