On January 14th, 2021, tragedy struck my family in the worst way imaginable. We lost our loving mother, stepdad and 5 year old niece in a house fire in Bettendorf Iowa. Nothing in life can prepare you for such a horrific, devastating season where you have no other choice but to hold tight to the Lord and let him carry you through it. Out of this horrible time in our lives and the tremendous loss we have had to face, have come so many sweet blessings. We were able to donate my mother’s organs, hearts that have carried so much unspoken hurt for many years have been healed, forgiveness towards family has set loved ones free and most importantly, my wife and I have had the opportunity to witness to family, doctors, nurses and every staff member we came in contact with at Genesis! We have been blessed beyond blessed in this time of sorrow and we are so thankful that God has been able to use us to witness to others. As with any unexpected financial situation, we are not fully able to financially lay my mom to rest on our own. Any donation would be greatly appreciated and if you are not in a position to donate, please keep lifting my family up in prayer. Right now that’s what we need the most. We know that God has a plan in all of this even though we can’t see it right now nor do we understand it. We live by faith and not by sight. We also want to encourage anyone reading this who does not have a personal relationship with the Lord to ask him into your heart. It’s never too late and there is nothing that you have done in this life that you can’t be forgiven for. He loves you! He created you for a purpose and he has such an awesome plan for your life! Life is so short and like this experience has reminded us, you never know when your time on earth is up. Don’t let another minute go by without knowing where you will spend eternity. We love you all and are so thankful for the outpouring of love and support each one of you has given in our time of grieving.
