Baby Brandon's Recovery

On Nov 04, 2014, we welcomed baby Brandon Bradley 5 weeks early to our family of 3 daughters. Needless to say his father was happy to add another male in the house since he was outnumbered by girls. Brandon had to stay in the hospital for three weeks and we were so happy when he was able to come home. After 3 months of being home, Brandon started having breathing problems. It was then that this journey of hospitals, doctors, specialists and breathing treatments begin. On Sunday July 19, 2015 Brandon started having breathing problems. He was unable to cry and catch his breath. We gave the breathing treatments as we normally do but they weren’t helping, having to deal with this situation prior to Sunday which led to a 3 day hospital stay his father decided to rush him to the Children’s Hospital Emergency Room. What we thought would be a checkup and different medicine and little Brandon coming home turned into something greater. While at the hospital, our precious son stop breathing. They had to revive him and he had to undergo emergency surgery because he little lungs collapsed. He also had to have a blood transfusion. You can imagine my heart when my husband called to tell me all of this because I was at home with our other daughters who are 15, 6 and 4.
Brandon has been in ICU since Sunday. He is on a ventilatorand has two nurses around the clock in the room; one to watch him and one to monitor his blood since they have him on a machine to filter and clean his blood. They have had him heavilysedated but praise God today he is coming off some of the medicine and he squeezed my hand. (Thank God for baby steps). We were told that he would be in the hospital for a min of 2 weeks and will need care after he is discharged. With everything that is and has happened this is why this GOFUNDME account was created. I am going to have to take a leave of absence from my job so that I can care for my son. We are setting up this account to help with expenses that the insurance will not cover and care that he will need after he is discharged from the hospital.
