I have lived with cancer for ten years being first diagnosed in 2015 followed by a second primary in 2020 and now for the last year I am living with secondary. I have cycled for as long as I can remember both for leisure and competitively and have tried to continue as much as I can during all my treatments although it is now getting more challenging with chemo and other drugs having a detrimental effect on my heart. However I have entered the Tour de 4, a cancer charity event started by Chris Hoy, former Olympic cyclist who too is living with secondary cancer. The event is in September and I hope to be able to do the main event which is 56 miles with 1000m of climbing, fitness and health dependant! I'm raising money in aid of Hunts Community Cancer Network Charity and every donation will help. Thank you in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to me.
HCCN provides community-based care for people in the Hunts area who are living with or recovering from cancer. They have been invaluable to me over the last five years providing home visits on a regular basis to avoid going to hospital for treatment/blood tests etc. HCCN also provides health, wellbeing and educational
activities, free of charge. All volunteers are unpaid and HCCN relies solely on funds raised.
Any contribution you can make, however small, will be greatly appreciated.
