GOAT FUND ME
Donation protected
This is a picture of my dad kissing a baby goat. We have a proverb in Ukraine that says, “love is blind - one can even fall for a goat”. Of course we mean ugly humans in this case. Because goats, especially their kids, are cute and very lovable.
My father is a nuclear power engineer. He designed multiple power plants, remodeled plants built in the soviet era, wrote most of the safety and operational standards for existing energy structures in Ukraine... Both of my parents are scholars with accomplished careers.
About a year after the war started; after having lost jobs and financial security, my parents chose to move to a very remote location where they could live off the grid. They planted a vegetable farm and built a wood fire oven inside the old house they purchased. Ironically, they have no electricity in the coldest months on the year, even though they had spent their lifetimes making sure Ukraine produces enough energy for itself and almost half of Eastern Europe.
My mother bought two goats, and both turned out to be pregnant. My parents hilariously named them Jessica and Martha. Almost 18 months later, after 2 kidding seasons, my parents have 10 goats. Many neighbors started flocking to my folks’ house in desperate search of food which became very expensive and hard to find in the area. My mom became a major supplier of goat milk and cheese and has slowly incorporated into their local community as a free and reliable source of food.
Due to dire economic circumstances, animal supplies have become very expensive and sparse. Building a barn for goats has been an ongoing project that requires distant trips to areas that are extremely unsafe. A gallon of gasoline is $5, if you're lucky to find the kind that's not diluted. There is no financial support to citizens who chose to stay in their country and work towards a greater goal of keeping Ukraine as a place that still exists on the world map.
Any contribution would be extremely helpful to the community and the goat farm.
Please share with those who care.
