In the matter of hours, Samira Lopez and her family lost all of their belongings, their home and their sense of security due to the flooding caused by the rain that fell on October 30, 2015 in Austin, TX ( see story). Samira has been a tremendous blessing to so many people she has crossed paths with. Without a second thought, she would not hesitate to give the shirt on her back. Now its our turn to give back to her and her family in their time of need. Their home and vehicles were destroyed and now they are in a period of cleaning and rebuilding. Samira  is a friend, a sister, a daughter, a fellow alum of UTSA & UIW,  a student affairs professional at TLU,  sister of Kappa Delta Chi, a proud Latina and so much more.  Whether you were an Orientation Leader with her or she assisted you with an issue as a Resident Assistant- if she has made an impact on your life in any way or you just feel it in your heart to help, I ask that you please do so. Anything helps- including prayers. The funds will initially go towards the supplies needed to rebuild and later will be used to begin to replace everything- literally- everything.
