Hello, I’m setting this up on behalf of Nige as he is having a really tough time at the moment and going forward, he has some huge changes on the horizon.

Just over a week ago Nige was woken by excruciating chest pains and to use his words he thought he was having a “heart attack”. He was taken to Southmead Hospital by ambulance where he was told after an agonising wait that he had damage to his aorta and that his heart was surrounded by fluid. Nige underwent several tests over the course of a week-long stay in hospital and has subsequently been diagnosed with Aortic Syndrome, a heart condition where there are life threatening abnormalities’ of the aorta, the main artery of the human body. As many of you are aware Nige is still navigating his brain tumour diagnosis from a few years back and this latest health scare has come as a major blow to him.

The reason I’m setting this page up is that financially this recent diagnosis is going to hit him hard, we all know Nige as a builder with many of you reading this will probably have had work done by him in the past, he has been told by his doctors that being a builder is a job he can never do again, strenuous activity could have fatal consequences for him and this news has left him devastated! Currently with Nige being a self-employed builder the future looks uncertain and unsecure for him as once he is healthy again he is going to have to explore other avenues of employment .

He is unable to work at present and any money gratefully received from this page will go direct to him and help him be able to concentrate on his recovery without the worry of money problems piling up.

I’m hoping that the rugby community we are all part of, and love can come together to help Nige out during what is a concerning time for him and difficult road ahead!
