Nate’s Heart Surgery

Hi Everyone,

On April 12th, 2022 our beautiful baby boy, Nathaniel Demitri Martinez, was born at 5 pounds 15 ounces. Shortly after he was diagnosed with a rare type of herniated diaphragm and VSD, which is a defect involving a large hole between two chambers of his heart. On May 2nd he under went surgery to repair his diaphragm, which resulted in a two week hospital stay at Banner. By the grace of God, everything went as well as it could have, but Nate still has a long medical journey ahead. On July 12th he will be undergoing heart surgery to repair the hole and is expected to be in the hospital for another long period of time while he recovers.

 

With 18 days worth hospital bills between 2 different hospitals, medicine, ongoing doctor visits, and his upcoming surgery, the costs are building up quickly. We are doing our best to keep up with bills, but any help would be greatly appreciated! At almost 3 months old, Nate is now 10 pounds and full of personality. We remain optimistic and are extremely grateful for everyone’s love and support Please send good vibes and prayers his way
