Zurück ins Leben! Selbstständigkeit nach Gewalttat

Liebe Freundinnen und Freunde, liebe Unterstützerinnen und Unterstützer,

im März 2024 hat das Leben meines Bruders eine schmerzhafte und tragische Wendung genommen: Er wurde unfreiwillig Opfer einer grausamen Gewalttat in Minden/Obermarktstrasse, die alles verändert hat. Er wurde beim Verlassen eines Gastronomiebetriebes, bei dem er gemeinsam mit seiner Verlobten den Abend verbracht hatte, von sechs Tätern angegriffen. Als er auf dem Boden lag, wurde weiterhin auf ihn (vor allem sein Schädel) massiv eingetreten. Seine Welt – und die unserer Familie – wurde in einem einzigen Moment auf den Kopf gestellt. Nach mehreren Wochen auf der Intensivstation sowie drei schwere Operationen am Gehirn/Kopf kämpfte er wegen der schweren Hirnblutungen ums Überleben. Er wurde lange Zeit künstlich ernährt und war auf lebenswichtige Hilfsmittel, wie Trachealkanüle, angewiesen. Heute ist er u.a. linksseitig gelähmt und steht nun vor einer ungewissen Zukunft. Die schweren Hirnverletzungen haben ihn linksseitig gelähmt, und die Träume, die er hatte – mit seinem Sohn Fußball zu spielen und ihn ständig begleiten, der Plan einer Hochzeit, mit seiner eigenen , kleinen Familie die Welt zu entdecken, ein eigenes Haus zu bauen – wurden ihm entrissen

Doch mein Bruder ist ein Kämpfer! Nach 9 langen Monaten im Krankenhaus und einer intensiven Reha gibt er nicht auf. Schritt für Schritt arbeitet er daran, wieder ein Stück Normalität und Selbstständigkeit zurückzugewinnen. Aber dieser Weg ist hart und voller Herausforderungen.

Die Behandlungen, Therapien, Hilfsmittel und Anpassungen, die ihm helfen können, ein besseres Leben zu führen, übersteigen bei Weitem, was durch Krankenkassen oder Rentenkassen abgedeckt wird. Erschwerend kommt hinzu, dass nur einer der Täter, die ihm das angetan haben, gefasst wurde. Die anderen wurden noch nicht gefunden. Eine Entschädigung aus dieser Richtung ist aktuell unrealistisch.

Tag für Tag kämpft er – unterstützt von seiner Familie, seiner Partnerin, seinem Sohn, seinen Freunden und seinen Kollegen – darum, das Beste aus seiner neuen Lebensrealität zu machen. Doch wir stoßen an unsere Grenzen und brauchen eure Hilfe, damit wir ihn auf diesem Weg weiter unterstützen können.

Wir glauben an ihn und seine unglaubliche Willenskraft! Mit jeder kleinen Hilfe können wir ihm ermöglichen, weitere wichtige Therapien und Anpassungen umzusetzen, die sein Leben wieder lebenswerter machen – wie weitere Umbauten zu einem barrierefreien Zuhause oder weitere benötigte medizinische Maßnahmen. Gemeinsam können wir ihm eine echte Chance auf ein selbstbestimmtes Leben geben.

Jeder Beitrag zählt. Egal, ob klein oder groß – jede Unterstützung bringt ihm dem Ziel näher, ein Stück seiner Gesundheit, Lebensfreude und Unabhängigkeit zurückzugeben. Lasst uns gemeinsam dafür sorgen, dass er diesen Kampf nicht alleine führen muss.

nel marzo 2024 la vita di mio fratello ha subito una svolta dolorosa e tragica: è stato vittima di un crudele atto di violenza a Minden, in Obermarktstraße, che ha cambiato tutto. È stato aggredito da sei persone mentre usciva da un locale dove aveva trascorso la serata con la sua fidanzata. Quando era già a terra, hanno continuato a colpirlo violentemente, soprattutto al cranio. In un solo istante, il suo mondo – e quello della nostra famiglia – è stato sconvolto. Dopo diverse settimane in terapia intensiva e tre gravi operazioni al cervello e alla testa, ha lottato per sopravvivere a causa delle gravi emorragie cerebrali. È stato alimentato artificialmente per lungo tempo ed è stato dipendente da strumenti vitali, come la cannula tracheale. Oggi, tra le altre cose, è paralizzato sul lato sinistro e si trova di fronte a un futuro incerto. Le gravi lesioni cerebrali gli hanno portato via i sogni che aveva: giocare a calcio con suo figlio, accompagnarlo sempre, celebrare il matrimonio, scoprire il mondo con la sua piccola famiglia e costruire una casa tutta sua.

Ma mio fratello è un combattente! Dopo 9 lunghi mesi in ospedale e una riabilitazione intensiva, non si arrende. Passo dopo passo, lavora per riconquistare un po’ di normalità e indipendenza. Tuttavia, questo percorso è difficile e pieno di sfide.

Le cure, le terapie, gli strumenti e gli adattamenti necessari per aiutarlo a vivere una vita migliore superano di gran lunga ciò che viene coperto dall’assicurazione sanitaria o pensionistica. Inoltre, solo uno degli aggressori che gli ha fatto questo è stato arrestato. Gli altri non sono ancora stati trovati. Al momento, un risarcimento da questa direzione è irrealistico.

Ogni giorno lotta – sostenuto dalla sua famiglia, dalla sua compagna, da suo figlio, dai suoi amici e dai suoi colleghi – per trarre il meglio dalla sua nuova realtà di vita. Ma stiamo raggiungendo i nostri limiti e abbiamo bisogno del vostro aiuto per continuare a sostenerlo in questo percorso.

Crediamo in lui e nella sua incredibile forza di volontà! Con ogni piccolo aiuto possiamo permettergli di accedere a ulteriori terapie e adattamenti importanti, che possano rendere la sua vita più vivibile – come ulteriori modifiche per una casa senza barriere o altre misure mediche necessarie. Insieme possiamo dargli una vera possibilità di vivere una vita autodeterminata.

Ogni contributo conta. Non importa se piccolo o grande: ogni aiuto lo avvicina all’obiettivo di riacquistare una parte della sua salute, della sua gioia di vivere e della sua indipendenza. Facciamo in modo che non debba affrontare questa battaglia da solo.

In March 2024, my brother’s life took a painful and tragic turn: he became an unwilling victim of a brutal act of violence on Obermarktstrasse in Minden, which changed everything. While leaving a restaurant where he had spent the evening with his fiancée, he was attacked by six assailants. Even as he lay on the ground, they continued to kick him viciously, particularly in the head. In one devastating moment, his world—and that of our family—was turned upside down.

After spending several weeks in the intensive care unit and undergoing three major brain surgeries due to severe brain hemorrhages, he fought for his life. For a long time, he was fed artificially and depended on life-sustaining devices, such as a tracheostomy tube. Today, he is partially paralyzed on his left side and faces an uncertain future. The severe brain injuries have left him unable to move the left side of his body. Dreams that once filled his heart—playing soccer with his son, being there for him every step of the way, marrying his fiancée, exploring the world with his little family, and building their own home—were cruelly taken from him.

But my brother is a fighter! After nine long months in the hospital and intensive rehabilitation, he refuses to give up. Step by step, he is working to regain some semblance of normalcy and independence. But the journey is grueling and filled with countless challenges.

The treatments, therapies, aids, and adaptations that could help him lead a better life far exceed what health insurance or pension funds cover. To make matters worse, only one of the attackers who did this to him has been caught. The others remain at large, making any compensation from that side currently impossible.

Day by day, he fights—supported by his family, his partner, his son, his friends, and his colleagues—to make the best of his new reality. But we are reaching our limits and need your help to continue supporting him on this journey.

We believe in him and his incredible willpower! Every little bit of help can enable him to access critical therapies and adjustments that will improve his quality of life—whether through further modifications to create a barrier-free home or additional necessary medical measures. Together, we can give him a real chance at a more self-determined life.
