In the early morning of August 3rd, a family lost their home. A father, son and 4 pets have been displaced due to a tragic house fire in Neyaashiinigmiing Ontario.

The assumed electrical fire consumed the newly built home completely, leaving the family with nothing but the clothes on their backs. The father of 9 children and 7 grandchildren, a cancer survivor, has been suffering from medical ailments, and was recently admitted to the hospital. Fortunately he was in their care at the time the fire.

He will not have a home to return to upon his release.

Luckily, the youngest son, who was the only resident in the home at the time, was able to escape the blaze with the pets.

The family, is asking the public for financial assistance to provide the basic essentials, such as clothing food, emergency housing, transportation, toiletries etc.. until insurance compensation can be provided.
