On October 30th, an extremely unfortunate and disturbing incident occurred involving a international member of our KM community (she wishes to remain anonymous). She left KM after class and proceeded to walk down Burbank Blvd. to the NoHo Metro station. About 15 minutes into her walk, she was abducted, taken to a nearby motel and sexually assaulted.

He has been described as a slightly overweight man of Italian descent, in his 50’s, with crooked teeth, some tattoos, partial balding, and is a smoker. On that night, he wore a white tank, drove a dark red car, and is assumed to work at a nearby auto shop. The NoHo Police are working on this case but have yet to find the abuser. If you come across any information that could help, please do not hesitate to contact them! 

She has gone back to her home country to be with family as she processes and heals, and is seeking therapy through the free healthcare system that her country provides. She has received bills from her trip to the emergency room in LA after the incident, amounting to about $4000.00, and has also expressed wanting to return to LA to continue training in the near future. Our wishes are to raise enough funds to help cover these medical expenses, as well as accommodations for her return trip to LA .

She doesn’t know we are trying to raise funds, but as a wonderful and dedicated addition to the KM family, we want to do as much as we can to help in the midst of these disheartening times. Anything that you can contribute is helpful and greatly appreciated. We thank you in advance!
