Help Save Zuko’s Life
Donation protected
Our 2 year old dog Zuko has been diagnosed with an auto-immune disease called IMT, Immune Mediated Thrombocytopenia. This condition is where the immune system attacks itself and destroys an important blood cell called platelets. Due to his condition, Zuko is at risk of spontaneous bleeding.
His treatment is becoming costly as he continues to be hospitalized for treatment. To break down costs, a single blood transfusion costs around $1k, 24h hospitalization which includes his IV fluids, medications, and further treatments costs about $1.1k (which he will need multiple days of hospitalization), and a PRP, Plasma-Rich Platelet treatment, costs $2k. Since he was admitted into emergency care, this initial cost is around $5.8k.
Zuko needs help to stay alive as we try to give him the care and treatment for his medications to kick in and bring his platelet count and red blood cell count to stable numbers. Unfortunately his medical costs are becoming a lot as the days go by and we are trying to give him the time he needs for his steroids to bring his platelet count up to help tend to his body. Donations will also go towards his recovery journey as he will need daily medication and follow-ups with the veterinary team.
Any donation is appreciated and will all go towards his medical costs. $1 really does help. If you're able to share Zuko's page as well, we would be more than grateful.
