Miss Lady has been in Leahurst since 4/08/25.

On that Monday, she seemed to be showing rather alarming colic symptoms, so I rang the Leahurst vets to come out and check on her. After examination, the vet was not quite happy and wanted to refer Lady for further testing.

After a couple days of testing and re scanning the abnormal area of her intestines.

On 8/08/25 they finally gave us a name as to what it was. The abnormal area is a diverticulum, which the abnormality has caused peritonitis. She was scheduled to have her surgery today to remove the abnormality as if it was to rupture she was be in excruciating pain and need euthanasia . So her best option is for the surgeons to operate and remove the area physically, which would be done via colic surgery. She is now having her surgery Monday 11th as a critical case took priority, so she was pushed back .

Her insurance should just about cover her vet bill however I do have to pay 25% of the vet bill as part of my insurance policy . Which a large vet bill (estimated 5000-6000 if all goes well) I will have a rather large share . However if recovery or the surgery was worse then initially thought costs could escalate up to 9000+ and her insurance covers up to 6500… Her update, the vet bill has starting exceeding past 7000 , so thank you so much for all the donations it’s so kind for so many of you to be so generous!

I am supposing to be starting at Hartpury Uni and taking Lady with me but this may have to be pushed back a year now due to Lady’s finances and of course her recovery and rehabilitation time period .

It was suggested to set up a fundraising page to go towards Lady if there was anybody willing to donate towards her surgery . It would be a massive help and so so appreciated.
