Support Jada's Journey to Vet Tech School

Update!! I found out that the $3061 I was billed wasn’t for rent. My mom apparently told them that she would take out a parent loan and then never went through with it so that was the amount that would need paid before I could start school. Thankfully I did raise that amount however now I am stuck not being able to pay rent for the first month since I put what savings I had for rent into this bill.

I will ofc figure something out, however I am going to adjust my goal amount just in case anyone is still feeling generous!!

Hi y’all!! Figured this was worth a shot!

I’m Jada, an 18-year-old college student. My dream since I was 6 has always been to be a vet tech. I start school at the Vet Tech Institute of Pittsburgh in less than a month and I was just sent a letter stating I owe the school $3061 by the 15th for my rent.

The school isn’t like a regular college. You need to pay monthly for the room, but for some reason, they require half of the first year's rent in advance.

I unfortunately don’t have the extra money and if I cannot make this payment, I am sh!t out of luck! My mom will not let me continue living with her.

My FAFSA and scholarships do not cover this and my mom will not help me out with any loans. I do not have a different co-signer who can help.

My total rent for the year is $5,535 and the total I owe for my first year is $11,041, not including the loan I will need to take out as well.
