Hello, I'm Jill, a Canadian woman that chased her family history to the UK, where I fully planned on staying and becoming a citizen. I had the pleasure of seeing the house my grandfather was born in, just around the corner from the Royal Mile in Edinburgh, which was amazing. I moved down to England two years ago and worked for an incredible company, and got hurt on the job (partially dislocating my hip, tearing all my soft tissue *tendons, ligaments, musculature*) which it turn I was let go for.

I have been applying for jobs ever since, and the closer and closer it gets to my Ancestry Visa time being up (Feb 2020) and with businesses already being wary with Brexit looming overhead, I've struggled to find a new job.

My housemate, whom I adore and could never be more thankful for, is soon taking the next step in his relationship and moving in with his amazing partner, and I wish them all the best. This however has left me in a bind (not their fault at all, I adore both of them) with not having a job, and having a rescue dog I adopted in Scotland. Sadly, I need both a stable income, and animal friendly, affordable housing to live in. Neither are in this area for me. 

So it would seem my only option at this point, is to go home. Ancestry Visas do not allow any type of Govt. assistance here in the UK. 

The money is for a flight for myself and my dog to move back to Canada (as well as the vet prep to allow her to fly), with a few bags of my belongings. As well as a little bit of money to pay rent, phone/pet insurance until I move (which has an approximate date of the end of October, beginning of November). 

Any help at all means my dog and I hopefully won't be homeless. 

This is taking a lot of emotional duress to ask for this and a huge blow to any pride I had, but I really have no other choice but to ask for the help from friends, family, and maybe the kindness of strangers.
