Emma's Medical Fund & Bath Remodel
Donation protected

This is Emma.
She’s my baby sister and is now 3 years old. She was born with spina bifida and hydrocephalus.
Spina bifida is a birth defect where there is incomplete closing of the backbone and membranes around the spinal cord. The gap causes fluid to collect into her brain, resulting in hydrocephalus. Emma had a shunt put into her head to correct the hydrocephalus by draining the fluid from her head to her bowels.
This also means she has a weak upper torso and is paralyzed from the waist down. Unable to sit on her own, she has to lie down when she bathes.
Emma is so big now that it is getting harder to clean and bathe her. She has no control over her bladder or bowels. We have to wash her every time before her urine is taken out with a plastic tube (catheterization) to prevent UTI (Urinary Tract Infection).
It is heartbreaking to squeeze her into a tiny sink. She is too big for the infant bathtub and we can't use the normal bathtub because when we wash her, she will poop, and cleaning a normal size tub with each washing is tiresome and physically draining. She washes 5-8 times a day.

The shower is also too small to fit both mom and Emma:

We are raising funds to remodel our bathroom so that it is more handicap accessible. It's hard with only one income. My dad had to quit his job to stay at home to care for her. Mom is barely making enough each month to cover all the expenses for our family.
Please help Emma if you can, she really needs your help.
The donations will go towards remodelling the bathroom and her medical bills. Thank you so much for your donations. We will be forever grateful! This is for Emma.
