Help me fight colon cancer and raise awareness.

Hi, my name is Kristin and I am battling colon cancer. At age 35 I was diagnosed with MS and I thought that news was devastating. During the time I have lost function of my right leg, which has resulted in the use of a cane and the inability to drive myself. Now I am 41 years old and last year, May 26th 2022 (I will never forget that day).

I went to the ER for stomach pain and they discovered I had cancer. I have a massive mass in my colon as well as some smaller ones on my liver and lungs. That was devastating. In one day I’m told I have stage four colon cancer at 40 years old. They don’t even screening for colon cancer until you’re 45 and it doesn’t even run in my family. With the testing that they did, they found that it was not genetic but environmental.

More and more younger people are being afflicted with this cancer.  Currently, I’m on a chemo regiment every two weeks and then I bring home a pump for two days. I started losing all my hair so I shaved it down and kept just the top so I have a cool mohawk. I am struggling financially. With the medical issues I spend an entire week in bed after chemo as it makes me so weak. I can’t work. 

How will I use the funds? So, the majority of the funds will be used to fund my treatments and the other for necessary bills. Of all the stress and anxiety I am dealing with, hoping that I can afford to stay in my home with utilities shouldn’t be one. It’s a real shame how expensive life saving medicine is. Please, if you are experiencing stomach/abdominal pain get it checked out. Colon cancer is no longer an older person cancer. If I would’ve known this sooner, I wouldn’t be in stage four. Also, whatever you can give is a blessing and I thank you for at least reading my story and sharing to help spread awareness.
