On the morning of Jan 26, 2025, I received a phone call no parent should ever have to hear. My daughter, who had traveled to Calgary to spend the weekend with her boyfriend and his brother, was calling me in a panic- the condo building was on fire. With no time to grab their belongings, the kids fled the building in the early morning, lost everything and now find themselves facing the unimaginable.
These young souls are some of the most hardworking and kind hearted people I know. They've put so much effort into building their lives, careers and future. In a single moment everything was taken away from them and now are left with the clothes on their back.
I am reaching out to you, our community for support. Times are tough, but any help whether big or small will make a huge difference. This is not just about replacing material things. It is about helping these young people start over and giving them a chance to rebuild. They have been through so much already and need a hand up to get back on their feet.
Please if you can, consider donating or sharing this message with others. Every bit of support, every prayer and every share helps. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for any help you can offer during this incredibly difficult time.
With much gratitude,
