On December 20th, 2019 our beloved family member Roberto Flores suffered a massive heart attack. He was rushed to St. John’s Pleasant Valley Hospital in Camarillo, Ca. Upon arrival, he was transported by ambulance to St. John’s Regional Medical Center in Oxnard, Ca. for emergency surgery.

He fought for his life, was unresponsive and was in critical condition throughout a course of five days. Doctors were not giving us any hope that he would wake up any time soon, and if he did, they did not know the extent of damage done to his brain due to lack of oxygen while unconscious.

After many prayers and faith in god, on December 25th, 2019 he woke up from his coma and to everyone’s surprise, he is now miraculously recovering, a true Christmas miracle! His breathing tube was removed after his breathing was reported stable. His feeding tube was removed and is now being fed orally, and his heart function went from 5% to 20%. If he keeps recovering like he is doing, he will soon get to go home with his wife Sofia (40) and two daughters, Dania (22) and Ximena (15), but still has a lot of recovery ahead of him.

Unfortunately, Roberto does not qualify for disability or unemployment benefits . Roberto has always been the type of person to reach out his hand to someone in need without asking or expecting anything in return. He's great son, husband, father, uncle, and friend to everyone he comes across and meets. On behalf of his wife and two daughters, I have created this account in an effort to help support them financially until Roberto is fully recovered during these hard times.
