In late 2023, I had the blessing of meeting an incredible man named Jazir Kongola. When Jazir shared his story with me, it truly broke my heart. As a child, Jazir experienced unimaginable hardship — he lost both of his parents at a very young age and was raised in an orphanage. But through it all, God never took His eyes off him.

You see, God gave Jazir a vision — a purpose to help children just like himself: those who had lost their parents and were living in poverty. As he grew older, he turned that vision into action by founding an organization called the Hill of Hope Children's Center.

At Hill of Hope, we believe in restoring dignity and providing opportunity to children in need. We currently care for 26 children at the orphanage, offering them food, shelter, education, and healthcare.

In the past year, we were able to relocate the center to a new and improved facility — a place with more space and better conditions. Thanks to generous support, we’ve provided the children with beds, mosquito nets (to protect against malaria), clean clothing, and essential supplies like food, clean water, soap, cooking oil, spices, firewood, bed sheets, and blankets.

But our mission doesn’t stop there.

This year, we’re aiming to raise funds to continue supporting these beautiful children — covering rent for the new center and ensuring consistent access to food, clean water, education, and healthcare.

To help raise awareness and funds, I’ve set myself a challenge: At the end of july 2026, I will run a 100 km ultra-marathon, an event we’re calling “Running Towards the Hill of Hope.”
