Hi it's K! I've asked Kim to tell her story below and see if we can raise enough to get her some private medical care because unfortunately as we all know too well, the NHS waiting times are broken.
Selfishly I want to make the most of the 2026 riding season with my best friend! But she also deserves to be without pain and live her life fully again. Even if you're not able to donate, please read her story...

Hello lovely people, my name is Kim. I am writing to you quite literally from my hospital bed, I have been here for 6 days following another rushed admission because of major blood loss and this time round a blood clot bigger than my hand. My amazing friend K has requested I write my story so that she can set up a GoFundMe page on my behalf to raise funds for a private full hysterectomy.

I am a full time working, single mum of two who is in desperate need of a hysterectomy due to my ever-growing endometriosis alongside of a 7x8cm tumour (uterine fibroid) in my womb. It has taken seven painful years of fighting to get the endometriosis diagnosis and even then it was only diagnosed because of the tumour being found in November 2023. I was rushed into hospital and admitted at that time in crippling pain, heamorrhaging and losing blood clots the size of my palm. I received IV transfusions/medications and liquids just to get me back on my feet again. Following scans, blood tests and an extensive MRI, the tumour was found and measured 4.5cm at the time. I have since been rushed in and admitted to hospital on multiple occasions, needing more transfusions. I take copious amounts of medication daily and still this does not help keep these chronic conditions under control.
The past six months things have gone from bad to worse and each day is more debilitating as time goes on. It's quite literally taking away my ability to live my life and do things with my children. With endometriosis the longer it is left it is known to spread and attack surrounding organs. It is now affecting my bowel too. I am unable to complete simple daily tasks without being exhausted. Going upstairs is like running a marathon and that is by no means an exaggeration. I suffer daily with what I can only describe as labour-tybe pains that radiate from my pelvis to my back, bottom and thighs, extreme bloating, pressure in my pelvis, night sweats, insomnia, brain fog, memory loss, inability to regulate my temperature, dizzy/faint spells/low blood pressure. I have to have my bloods checked every three weeks as my iron and heamoglobin levels are always so dangerously low.
Watching TV or reading a book is non-existent as I cannot concentrate long enough and I find myself re-reading a page or rewinding a movie because of being too focused on my pain.
My mental health has declined rapidly, so much so that the depression and anxiety and debilitating daily pain has led me to thinking about ending my life on numerous occasions. I have of course sought help at these times and I am on medication to help with that. I have had to cut my work hours to less than half, I work from my sofa at home and have been forced to use my savings to look after myself and my two children during this time. Whilst I'm currently in hospital the gynaecology team are offering even more hormone medications to send me home with to test whilst I'm on a nine month waiting lists for surgery. No previous hormone treatments or medication have worked in the past so I've begged multiple times during this admission for the surgery to be brought forward and I'm told the wait list is a wait list. When I was rushed in on this occasion at 4am my children asked me if I was going to die. It broke my heart. As much as they see me get up and try to show up daily with a smile, they can tell how poorly I really am. Something has got to give.
I called a private hospital yesterday and they said a private hysterectomy will cost £8000 and the waiting times are 4-6 weeks maximum. So I'm asking you if you can help me, no matter how little or even if it's just to share my story. Help me get my life back not only for myself but for my children too. No one should be left to suffer like this.

If there happens to be any monies left over the will be donated to Endometriosis and Fibroid charities across the country.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you!
Kim
