Run for Hope: Supporting Children’s Education in Lebanon

This May, our family (Moritz, Anna and Axel) and we (Jakob and Luise) will be running 10km, a half marathon and a full marathon in Riga, Latvia, with a purpose much greater than just crossing the finish line. We are running to support The Emmanuel Hope Project, an initiative that helps children in Lebanon access education by covering their school fees.

Our connection to Lebanon is deeply personal. We both had the incredible opportunity to spend a year in Lebanon, working with individuals with disabilities. It was a life-changing experience that opened our eyes to the challenges many people in Lebanon face. During our time there, we witnessed firsthand the resilience of the Lebanese people, and we were inspired by their strength and hope for the future.Our family visited us during that year and also fell in love with the country and its people.

After the devastating explosion in Beirut in 2020, Luise co-founded The Emmanuel Hope Project (back then: Boxes for Beirut) with the mission of providing immediate and long-term support to those affected. As part of this initiative, we focus on helping children who are unable to attend school due to financial barriers by covering their school fees, allowing them to continue their education and build a better future.

By supporting our run, you’re helping to ensure that more children in Lebanon have the opportunity to go to school, learn, and build a brighter future. Every mile we run is a symbol of our commitment to these children and to the Lebanese community, who taught us so much about hope, perseverance, and the power of education.
