Hello all! My name is Baird Hoffmire. I am a freelance artist and have been working in this field for 23 years in some iteration or other. You can see my professional portfolio at http://www.bairdhoffmire.com .
Boris Crookedback and the Dragon of Wang-Dang-Baloo is my first attempt at a children's book from stem to stern. I've illustrated more than 100 books for children over the years, but never one I've written. My hope is that I can raise enough money for the labor and printing of this book and that possibly it will lead to many more. If successful it could lead to my own publishing label.
Boris is a character that is near and dear to my heart. His story is universal and endearing. The art will be quirky and engaging to children. Having two young kids myself, I wanted to write a fun little book that communicated a postive message and a compelling sense of humanity. Thanks for taking the time to read my spiel. And even more thanks if you decide to contribute to this endeavor!
* An important footnote to this project, 2 of the major characters in this book suffer from birth defects (among other things). If and when the book gets printed a portion of the proceeds from the sale of these books will be donated to the following worthy causes:
