Mi nombre es Karina Valente y esta campaña es para una operación de emergencia que le tienen que realizar a mi tía María J. quien vive en Caracas, Venezuela.
Mi tía esta hospitalizada desde el domingo 13 de enero, ya que el día sábado 12 de enero de 2019 en horas de la tarde se desmayó en la vía pública, perdiendo el conocimiento y la noción de quien era y desconociendo a su familia, gracias a Dios y a la buena voluntad de un transeúnte que le ayudó sin aprovecharse de su situación, pudo contactar con su familia a las 11 de la noche de ese día. El domingo la llevaron a la clínica y en el diagnóstico explican que producto de la caída sufrió un trauma frontal lo que le ocasionó un derrame de sangre interno. Con el tratamiento ya se está empezando a ver evolución, pero se requiere realizar una operación de embolización de aneurisma cerebral por terapia endovascular de manera urgente. En el 2013 ella había sido diagnosticada con un LOE frontal (un tipo de tumor en el cerebro), en ese momento los médicos lo evaluaron y consideraron que la cirugía no era prioritaria y que era algo con lo que ella podía vivir. Pero producto de la caída esto se complicó y ahora la operación se requiere con urgencia.
En los hospitales públicos el aparato con el que se realiza este tipo de cirugía están dañados o inexistentes, por lo que la única alternativa es una clínica privada. El presupuesto estimado para realizar esta intervención es de $14,000.
Con la situación económica, política y social que exista en Venezuela, mis primos quienes viven allá y son personas de clase media no cuentan con los medios y mucho menos en dólares para poder costear esta operación y no existe ningún tipo de financiamiento ni ayuda, por lo que acudo a este medio para solicitar su ayuda. Cualquier aporte por pequeño que sea nos puede ayudar a lograr la meta.

My name is Karina Valente and this campaign is for an emergency operation that we need to perform for my aunt María J. who lives in Caracas, Venezuela.
My aunt has been hospitalized since Sunday, January 13th, because on the afternoon of Saturday, January 12th she fainted in the street, losing consciousness as well as the notion of who she was and the ability to recognize her family. Thanks to God and the good will of a passerby who helped her without taking advantage of her situation, she was able to contact her family at 11 o'clock that night. On Sunday they took her to the clinic and in the diagnosis the doctors explained that she suffered a frontal trauma as a result of the fall, which caused internal bleeding. She has started to see some improvement with the treatment they’re adminsitering, but in order to see long-term results it is required to perform a cerebral aneurysm embolization operation via endovascular therapy urgently. In 2013 she had been diagnosed with a space-occupying frontal lesion (a type of tumor in the brain), but at that time the doctors that evaluated her considered surgery was not a priority since it was something she could live with. Unfortunately, the lesion was affected as a result of the fall making the operation an urgent matter.
The device used for this type of procedure is either damaged or nonexistent at public hospitals, so the only alternative for surgery is a private clinic. The estimated cost for this intervention is $14,000.
The economic, political and social situation that exists in Venezuela makes it infinitely harder for my cousins who live there to afford this operation for their mother. My cousins are middle class people who do not have the means and much less the ability to procure dollars in order to be able to afford this surgery and it is impossible to receive any financing or help. For these reasons I have decided to use this medium to request your help. Any contribution, however small, can help us achieve our goal.
