Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh!
Cardiff University Sikh Society proudly announces we are hosting Langar on Campus this year! After hosting it for three years since COVID, we have fed over 2000 people and made it onto national news! We also won the Societies, Volunteering and Media's award for Big Event of the Year in 2023!! We couldn't have done it without all of our amazing volunteers and your generous donations!
This year we are anticipating a much bigger event and we are hoping with your kindness and generosity to raise enough money to help us pay for food, promotion and other preparations.
We aim to spread the message of equality that Guru Nanak Dev Ji brought to this world through Langar: free food for all no matter race, religion, gender or social status. We hope that this event will promote community, compassion and emphasise oneness in all.
Here's how your contribution will make a difference:
- Combat Food Insecurity: Many students face financial hardship, and access to affordable and nutritious food can be a significant challenge. Langar provides a vital lifeline, ensuring no student goes hungry.
- Promote Community and Inclusivity: Langar fosters a sense of community and belonging among students from diverse backgrounds. It breaks down barriers and promotes understanding and respect.
- Support Student Wellbeing: Access to healthy food plays a crucial role in student well-being.
Every contribution, no matter how small, will make a significant impact.
All donations will be used strictly for Langar on Campus ONLY. Any surplus funds will be set aside and used for next year's Langar on Campus - as with previous years.
Let's work together to create a more inclusive and supportive environment for all students at Cardiff University.
Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh!
