Misty's road to recovery

If you know us or have worked with us then you know our girl Misty. She is the light of our life, our favorite adventure companion and cuddle buddy! We adopted Misty five years ago from a shelter in Los Angeles and brought her to live her best, snowy life here in Maine. And for the last four years she’s done just that! Misty loves her trail runs and salty walks on the beach. She loves running through the snow in front of us when we go snow shoeing or skiing and chasing after the squirrels in our backyard. She is the sweetest and fluffiest girl and has owned our hearts since day one.
This past week Misty became severely ill and after multiple trips to the emergency vet it was finally discovered that she had an intestinal blockage and needed emergency surgery. Everything appeared to be going well post surgery but shortly thereafter she developed pneumonia. It’s now expected that she will be in the icu for the next few days in hopes that the pneumonia will clear up so her can come home. We have no way of knowing what Misty’s life was before we adopted her but we know for certain that she found her home with us and all we want is to be able to bring our girl home. We are confident we have many more adventures together!
Unfortunately, emergency vet bills are incredibly expensive and we have wracked up an exorbitant amount of them over this summer. Misty’s current situation has put a heavy financial burden onto our shoulders and while we would never say no to doing whatever we needed inorder to to keep her healthy we are asking for help if anyone is able and willing. Any amount would make this burden a little bit lighter for us as we continue to help Misty receive the care she needs and deserves.
