To know Shane Hammond, is to love Shane Hammond. As a friend, a caregiver and a loyal employee of Tony’s Seafood and Steakhouse, he has proven time and time again that his heart is as big as it gets.
During the past year, Shane has been treated for a foot injury that eventually led to surgery to repair several broken toes. Unfortunately, Shane has suffered a serious setback in his recovery. The surgical incision was healing great, however, once they casted the foot, the incision re-opened and has a massive infection. His physicians sent him to a wound clinic where they prescribed a wound vac for him; however, his Anthem Insurance will not cover the cost. His only recourse at this point is to clean the wound several times a day with a saline wash and then rebandage. This treatment method leaves Shane extremely susceptible to infection and could possibly lead to losing his foot.
Because of his medical issue, Shane has been off work since May and with this new development, he isn’t slated to return to work until September – and that’s if the foot heals as expected. With the extended time out of work and his increasing medical bills, we are asking for those of you that Shane has touched in your lifetime to support him now. Shane is very proud and does not want to ask for anything and we know how difficult it must be for him.
