Patti Royer's Warriors
On July 10th, Patti Royer and her grandchildren, Ella and Zane, were in a horrible ATV accident. The accident left both Patti and Zane in the ICU for days and Ella in the hospital overnight. Ella and Zane are now both at home recovering and Patti will be in a rehabilitation center in St. Louis for weeks. Patti sustained multiple broken bones, including her vertebra, collarbone, shoulder blade, ribs, femur, eye socket, and sinus cavity. She also had a collapsed lung and crack in the back of her skull. Although she has no movement below her waist at this time, her family and friends are hopeful that she will make a full recovery. Zane spent several days at the Children's hospital with a skull fracture and blood on his brain with two blood clots. Zane will take several weeks to fully recover. Ella, the luckiest of the three, walked away with minimal injuries to her arm. However, had it not been for Ella running to find help, the outcome could have been very different.
Bob and Patti Royer are known in their community as kind, loving and generous people. Many people have said, "If you can't get along with Bob and Patti Royer, you can't get along with anyone." Patti, an avid runner before the accident, also has a love for working out. She has been actively involved with all the work that took place on the farm with Bob. Her newest love and passion are her bees which she fondly cares for in her orchard. Patti is a strong woman of faith which she shares through her daily positive and scripture filled Facebook posts. Her plan is to fight these injuries and walk again!
So many people have been asking what they can do for Patti and Bob. The health care costs associated with Patti's recovery will be enormous. It is now our turn to give back to a couple who have given so much to so many. Every dollar donated wiill help support Patti in her journey to walk again.
