Hi all, a friend of ours needs help raising funds for the fees of the application process for UK citizenship. Below is a message explaining their situation:

Hi all, I am raising money to cover the costs of my UK citizenship application. I am a black, working class EU citizen who is increasingly concerned about the hostile environment and how it effects everyone without UK citizenship.  I cannot afford these extortionate fees which are pricing many vulnerable people out of basic rights in this country.

I am applying for citizenship as it would give me peace of mind and protect me from the inevitable dwindling of the rights of EU citizens post-brexit. I currently have settled status but I would lose that if I leave the country for longer than 5 years, British citizenship would secure and increase my rights in this country e.g. I could leave for as long as I want and I would gain the right to vote which I do not have despite living here since 10 years old.

It costs £1330 to apply for UK citizenship + £19.20 to have your biometric information taken (fingerprints and a photo). The additional funds raised will be put towards hidden costs such as gofundme fees/the cost of my first passport/travel etc. I am aiming to apply by the end of the month so any and all help would be much appreciated.
