Baby Mason

My name is Mercedes. I am the mother of Mason and he is only 3 years old. I received the call of my nightmares on April 28th, 2023. Mason and his dad were in a 2 car accident in Rockingham, NC. They were t-boned at an intersection. His dad, Mitchell passed away shortly after arriving at the Richmond County Emergency Center. Mason was flown to UNC Hospital in Chapel Hill, NC. Mason is in critical condition. Mason regained consciousness once they got him settled in the PICU. Mason has a laceration to his liver and another injury to his right kidney from the impact of the crash. So he has internal bleeding and blood in his lungs. He has a broken arm and has fractured both sides of his pelvis, which are the hips.

Thats all I know at this very moment. There are other concerns for Mason but this is all the doctors can confirm right now. He’s expected to be in the hospital for 2-3 weeks.

PLEASE EVERYONE SAY A PRAYER FOR MY BABY. I cannot lose him too.

Mitchell’s death was very unexpected and he did not have anything in place to prepare for such a thing. I do not have the money to pay for funeral expenses and neither does his family. His family is currently trying to sell what they can get rid of to gain the funds for the expenses but it’s no telling how fast we can get the funds together. And I am doing everything in my power to stay by Mason’s side during these difficult times, but eventually I will have to go back to work. So I will be driving back and forth from Montgomery County to Chapel hill at least 3-4 times a week. It is a hour and 30 minute drive just one way. I am asking you guys to help me and to help Mitchell’s mother by donating what you can to help pay for funeral expenses, medical bills, and traveling expenses.

I am not one to ever ask for help but we are in difficult times and we need ALL the help we can get right now, including prayers.
