My name is Tanya, and I am putting together a fundraiser to help save Sadie, my sweet fur baby.

Sadie is a 10 yrs old pit bull mix, who has been with our family since she was 3 months old. Recently, I had major medical challenges, and she went to stay with extended family while I recovered.

That changed very abruptly on December 13th, 2022. I got a call that she had a little lump on her throat/ chest area and that they couldn't afford a vet. I asked that she be brought to me right away, and a few hours later she was carried to me with a lump on her throat and no knowledge of how it got there. She had lost nearly 15lbs (she is normally 55lbs- so this is a huge amount of weight to have lost), and she was in so much pain that she could not walk, eat or hold her bladder. The very next morning I had her in to see her vet.

We have had a long journey thus far. At first, it was thought she may have been attacked by another dog or maybe even a coyote. We found out once her abscess ruptured and the vet was able to go in and see- that those puncture holes you see are, in fact, bb gunshots. She was shot multiple times with a bb gun and left to suffer nearly to death. We have no way of knowing how long she suffered before she was brought home.

She has had 4 surgeries to date. Each surgery has been to try to suture/staple her shut. This has not worked. This morning she opened up again for the 4th time, and we had to rush her to the emergency vet once again.

Moving forward, we are going to have to treat her as an ICU patient. She needs constant care for the next couple of weeks to ensure she heals without infection and complications.

Sadie still has a long road of healing ahead. She is still the sweetheart you all know and love. This has not changed her, this has hurt her. Her vet bills are enormous... and they aren't over yet. She is still in need of medical equipment and daily medical care. I personally had a VERY rough year of my own in 2022 with major medical recovery, and many of you know my fiance has also suffered a major medical emergency 5 months ago. Life is hard. I have exhausted my resources, and I need help saving Sadie. I can not afford her medical bills and costs at this point. I need help.
