The Joyner Family
Spende geschützt

Our hearts are broken by the tragic and sudden loss of the beloved Joseph Ronald “Ronnie” Joyner, on March 28, 2022. Ronnie’s family is devastated, and words cannot express the sadness and pain they and all that knew him are feeling.
For some, Ronnie was the illustrator, cartoonist, and writer behind the bio-illustrations featured in the weekly sports memorabilia periodical Sports Collectors Digest. He loved baseball and was active in various communities dedicated to baseball history, including organizations commemorating baseball teams of bygone eras - among them the St. Louis Browns, Philadelphia Athletics, Brooklyn Dodgers, and Washington Senators. He also chronicled the lives of ballplayers through his card sets and autobiographies.
For others, Ronnie was a pillar of the rockabilly community. He was the lead singer and rhythm guitarist of the Flea Bops, formed in Indian Head, MD, in the early 1990s. The Flea Bops enjoyed an international fanbase of rockabilly enthusiasts. Their music even allowed the band to travel to Spain for the High Rockabilly festival. He also collaborated in numerous local music projects. Most recently, he had been writing and recording original solo music and sharing it on his YouTube channel, The Ronnie Joyner Songbook.
Ronnie’s day job as a graphic designer brought him in contact with businesses, schools, nonprofits, and individuals who knew him as a talented and reliable professional.
Ronnie’s family needs our help and support at this most difficult time. His wife Carla and sons Jimmy, Max, and Raleigh will not only need our love and support emotionally, but financially. Any support you can provide would be greatly appreciated. All donations will go directly to the family for immediate expenses and bills.
The family is collecting photos for Ronnie’s memorial service. Please send photos to: [E-Mail ausgeblendet]
