My sweet girl

Niña, my shih tzu poodle mix, has a history of cushings disease. On August 21, she became sick. Several emergency vet visits through the week led to her being hospitalized on Sunday afternoon. We found out she is diabetic and had fallen ill to Diabetic Ketoacidosis (DKA). Since hospitalized, Niña developed aspiration pneumonia, and pancreatitis. Her hematocrit has dropped to a level requiring a blood transfusion. After spending 3 days admitted to Vetrinary Emergency Group (VEG), her condition was not improving so we made the decision to transfer her to a specialist emergency vet called Blue Pearl. I have already spent almost $8000 at VEG over the two individual visits and her 3 day stay this past week. The new bill at Blue Pearl is around this same amount and will get her care through Saturday morning. Niña isn’t a pet, isn’t just a dog, this little girl is my whole life. I’d do anything to save her if she has a fighting chance. Last night I got my first tail wag in a week and I know she’s hanging on. Please help me help her. I don’t want to go home without her.
