Jett and Jace Cornelius
Donation protected
Kristin went into premature labor on 07/14/2015. She was only 23 weeks and 6/7 days along. Doctors think the kidney infection Kristin was fighting caused her to deliver the babies early. Jett and Jace were born 16 weeks premature. Jett weighing only 1lb 7oz was born a 9:12am and Jace weighing only 1lb 3oz was born at 9:55am. Since birth both boys has proven to be quite the little fighters!
Jett is stable but critical. He is on a ventilator and has a chest tube on his right side. His patent ductus arteriosus (PDA) is not closed causing bleeding. They have given him medicine in hopes that it will close quickly. He will have an echo on 7/20/2015 to determine the next step. He is also scheduled for a head scan on 7/21/2015 to check to see if there are any brain bleeds. He is on pain meds to help with any pain he is in.
Jace is a little more critical. He is also on a ventilator and has a chest tube on his left side. He has unstable blood pressure and has been given meds to stabilize it. The meds that were given increase the chances of bleeding. His last head scan showed some bleeding on both sides of his brain. He is scheduled for his next head scan on 7/20/2015 to check to see if there are any more bleeds. His PDA did not close either and he has been given medicine to try to close it. He is on pain meds to help with his discomfort. He will also have an echo on 7/20/2015 to determine the next step in his care.
In spite of these obstacles, we have complete faith in the doctors and staff and have no doubt we will be bringing home two healthy baby boys sometime in November.
Ephesians 2:10 For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.
The next few months will be a strain on Kristin and Jeff emotionally and of course financially. We are extremely fortunate to have a room at the Ronald McDonald house and dinner provided daily. Jeff has used up all of his vacation days and is planning to return to work in the next week or so. Kristin will remain in Savannah with the babies until they are released. The estimated release date is Nov. 4th unless there are any complications with the boys that would delay it. As fortunate as we are, we still have our monthly household bills that are quickly falling behind. We also have traveling expenses back and forth as we are trying to maintain a normal life for Elyjah as he is just 8 months old and is confused where his mommy and daddy are.
We just can't make it on our own. We would greatly appreciate any level of financial support. We also ask that you keep us in your prayers. Please feel free to donate as much or as little as you can, every little bit counts. It will help relieve one of the many stresses we are carrying these days. Thank you all so much for the prayers.
2 Corinthians 4:16-18 “Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.”
