Lana's Recovery
Donation protected
On May 19th Alana went in for a scheduled procedure that was supposed to prevent what it inevitably caused. She suffered a massive brain bleed and required an emergency craniotomy which resulted in extensive damage to the left side of her brain. She walked into the hospital with plans for the summer, excited about finding a job she enjoyed, ready to begin her gardens and enjoying her new home.
Lana is 31 years old. She has lost mobility in her entire right side. For those that know her, you know she is artistic and a talented musician. With the loss of her right side she will have to learn to use her non dominant hand. She will require extensive rehabilitation to relearn everything we take for granted such as breathing, swallowing and speaking.
Her new home will require alterations to make it wheelchair accessible so that she is able to live as independently as she can when she is finally able to leave the rehab centre. I know that times are tough for everyone these days, but to alleviate some of the stress from my parents who are dealing with their own health issues and financial stressors, I am asking for any help to assist us in giving Alana some of her life back.
