Help a Veteran Overcome Tragedy and Rebuild Her Life
Life has been unimaginably difficult for Angelika, a dedicated combat veteran who once served her country with honor and strength for 6 years. After enduring military sexual trauma, she found herself in an abusive relationship for 11 years. Feeling stuck because of the financial and mental hold her abuser had over her, she finally broke free. She took him to court for a restraining order, but after allegations that her abuser made without any real evidence, she had to face the heartbreak of losing her child, leaving her shattered and broken. Already struggling with severe PTSD from the military, losing her child has just added to her setbacks. Her courage has been tested in ways no one should ever have to endure.
Finally, she made a fresh start. She left her abuser 2 months ago, found the courage to get away from him, and bought a house for herself and her child. Things were finally looking up for them, and then her abuser struck again and made threats. My sister went to court for a restraining order, and at the words of the abuser, the judge decided my sister is too unstable to take care of my niece. No questions asked, no investigations done; she is guilty until proven innocent, and the child is taken out of her school and sent away from her mother and into the system. I, being a foster mother, have seen children that deserve to be taken from their parents, and I can assure you my niece does not belong in the system. My sister is nothing but a great mother to her. She cooks with her, plays with her, takes her to church, and teaches her manners. She is very well involved in her interests and her life. My niece is a straight A-B student because my sister works with her non-stop to be the best she can be.
Despite her unwavering dedication to her country and being a great mother, she is now caught in a legal nightmare, struggling to afford the attorney fees necessary to bring her child home where she belongs. She has exhausted all options and resources, and now, she needs your help to stand up against an unjust system that has torn her family apart.
Every donation—no matter the amount—will go directly toward securing expert legal representation to fight for justice. Your generosity will not only help one mother reclaim her rightful place in her child's life but also show support for the veterans who give everything to protect our freedoms.
Let’s come together to right this wrong. Please consider donating or sharing this fundraiser with others who believe in justice, family, and supporting those who served.
Thank you for standing with Angelika, a veteran, a mother, and a survivor in her fight for justice!
