My name is Mahmoud Sayed Al-Wadiyya, I’m 24 years old and from Gaza.

Just a short while ago, I was a healthy young man, walking the streets of my neighborhood to buy food for my family. It was a simple task one we all do every day but on that day, my life changed forever.

As I walked home, an Israeli artillery shell struck the street. In a split second, everything went dark. I was hit by shrapnel in the head, neck, and throughout my body. A shard of metal lodged in my cervical spine specifically the seventh vertebra leaving me paralyzed. I now suffer from quadriplegia. My arms, my legs… nothing moves.

I’ve been to every hospital in Gaza, but the medical system here is overwhelmed and under-equipped. I didn’t receive the care I desperately needed. Every day since has been a struggle physically, emotionally, and financially.

I’m now pleading for help to travel abroad, to a place where I can receive proper treatment. Germany has clinics that offer real hope advanced rehabilitation, surgeries, and care that could give me back even part of my independence.

But I can’t do this alone.

I also urgently need support to buy essential medical supplies, personal care equipment, and daily living needs. Every donation no matter how small brings me one step closer to healing, to moving, to living again.
