Support for the Jenkins Family
Hi everyone, my name is Sarah White and the Jenkins have been like family to me for over 8 years. Maggie is my best friend and our children call each other cousins.
As many of you know, Arlen has spent all of her life fighting various medical issues. Last year the family found out these all stem from a rare genetic disease, and in December it became obvious that her treatments were no longer working. As a result, it’s been determined the best course of treatment for her is a bone marrow transplant. The timing of this depends on when she can secure a bone marrow donor, but it’s expected to be sometime before or in the summer. Arlen’s parents, Maggie and Drew, will need to travel to NYC with Arlen to have the transplant done, and there will be a lot of back and forth as her siblings can not visit and Drew still needs to work. Arlen will be away for roughly 4 months for her transplant and will need to stay quarantined for a year after. She will not be able to return to school, have play dates, or return to gymnastics that she loves. It will be a very hard situation for the whole family. Any donations will be used for travel, childcare for Brantley and Arabelle while their dad works and mom is with Arlen, and any other financial occurrences that may arise from the transplant. Thank you everyone for all of the love and support you have shown them throughout these years and going forward.
