Support Fernando's Kidney Transplant Journey

Hi everyone,

I’m reaching out on behalf of an amazing family of four who are facing an incredibly difficult season of life. My sister, Ashley and her husband, Fernando are the proud parents of two beautiful little ones—Fernando III, who’s almost three, and sweet baby Franchesca, just two months old. They’re a loving, tight-knit family who now need our help as they prepare for a life-changing medical journey.

Fernando, just 35 years old, has been battling Lupus—a chronic autoimmune disease that has taken a serious toll on his kidneys. He’s currently undergoing dialysis five days a week, and now, the time has come to hopefully take the next step: a kidney transplant.

Thankfully, a matching donor has been found within the family. This is incredible news, but it also comes with a set of challenges they weren't financially prepared for.

The transplant will take place four hours away from their home. Fernando will need to remain in the hospital for at least three weeks following the procedure, and Ashley—along with their two young children—hopes to find temporary housing nearby during that time. On top of that, once Fernando is released, he’ll need to make weekly visits back to the same hospital, which means regular 8-hour round-trip journeys, with added costs for gas, meals, and possible overnight stays.

This is a lot for any family, let alone one already balancing the emotional and physical toll of a serious medical condition with the demands of raising two young kids. 

We’re asking for your help to ease the financial burden so Ashley and Fernando can focus on what truly matters—his recovery and their family’s well-being. Any donation, no matter the size, will go directly toward:

- Temporary housing during Fernando’s post-transplant hospital stay  

- Travel expenses for follow-up appointments  

- Meals and lodging during hospital visits  

- Childcare support and basic needs while Ashley supports Fernando
