We are a small farm in Cedar Creek, Texas. We raise, process and sell heritage breed animals at farmers markets and fine dining restaurants in and around Austin Texas. Over the past nine years we built our own processing house on site. The State Health Department of Texas has changed their coding, leaving us defined as Non-Compliant, and we are now in danger of losing our processing site as we do not have the funds to build a new processing facility. As there are no other poultry and rabbit processing facilities in the area we would in effect become dead in the water. Feeding our animals would bankrupt us and with no butchershop we would have no way to make money to continue to feed them as we would not be able to process and sell them. Five farms have gone bankrupt this year already. One small farm going bankrupt is too many. Help us save our dream, our farm, and our livelihood. We will use any money we receive with grateful hearts to construct a new butchershop facility on site as quickly as possible. In the mean time we will start work on prepareing the site for the new butchershop with hope that our plea will be heard. Having a butchershop on site is convenient, but it is more than that. It allows us to humanely butcher the animals and allows them to have a stress free life. Many animals die needlessly in transport due to the cramped conditions and stressful transport from the farms to butchershops. The State Health Department of Texas has given us an ultimatum of 10 days to raise the money to rebuild a new facility so that they can re-inspect us and define us in Compliance with code. We realize that this is asking for a miracle in a short amount of time and we want to believe that miracles are still a reality. Help us save Countryside Farm's Butchershop today. Thank you in advance for considering our proposal.
