Rebekah's Medical Expenses
Don protégé
On Sunday, September 18th, 2022, my daughter Rebekah woke up with a splitting headache. After trying all day to get relief, she made an appointment to see her doctor on Monday morning. Things moved pretty quickly from there. She had an MRI that revealed a large pituitary tumor. Plans were made on Tuesday for two operations to remove what they could of the tumor. Wednesday, the doctors did a transsphenoidal surgery, entering through her nose and taking as much of the tumor as possible. On Thursday, they did a craniotomy to try to remove more. The tumor is benign, which is good, but the size and location of the tumor have caused swelling and pressure on Rebekah's brain. Each day over the last two weeks has brought little glimpses of progress and a few small steps back.
Rebekah and her husband, Aaron, are both bilingual teachers. Their school has been very supportive as they try to navigate this health challenge with Rebekah. She will likely have to take time off teaching as she continues this recovery marathon. Aaron will take as much time off as possible before returning to teaching. Meanwhile, along with medical bills, they will have unexpected expenses, such as gas, hospital parking, meals and more. Please consider giving to this amazing young couple of educators as they continue to work toward complete healing and wholeness for Rebekah.
