Hello my name is Olufunmilayo I Williams. I discovered last year that my husband whose responsibility was to pay for the Mortgage of the house, council tax and water bill, had turned the repayment into Interest Only a long time ago and not Repayment and we had the banks and companies taking us to court. I am turned between homelessness and shame with my children.
I realise he was just buying landed properties in his name in Nigeria. And there was majority of his income was going to.
Now, we only have 3 years 7months left on the mortgage with £140,000 to pay. This is the result of me trusting someone I call my husband for 33years. We have lived in this house for 20years.
I am 58 years old. I am still working. I am self- employed, as a Registered Childminder and an Online TEFL Teacher.
Our eldest daughter is the only one working for now. Second daughter is still in her last year in the University and the last one is just about to start Apprenticeship this January.
My second daughter or even our Son going into Apprenticeship may not have a home to come back to during breaks or even after 4 years.
He has moved most of his things to Nigeria, saying he is going to move there, which I don't mind but I am not moving to Nigeria. I go on holiday to see all my family, as I am the only one living in the UK, when I have the money.
But I have not even gone, since 2016.Whatever is raised will go into the Mortgage,so that myself and my children will not be homeless.
